Database Administrator
Boca Raton, FL

Position

We are seeking a Database Administrator (DBA) based in our Boca Raton, Florida office. The DBA will be responsible for storing and organizing the firm’s data including but not limited to capacity planning, installation, configuration, database design, migration, performance monitoring, security, troubleshooting, and backup & data recovery. This position will be part of the Analytics and Technology team.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and maintain the systems and processes that store and manipulate the firm’s data
  • Provide database support that results in high data availability, productive development teams and the highest possible customer satisfaction with the database interaction experience
  • Provides all database administrative functions for the development, test and production environments
  • Researches, evaluates, tests and implements database technologies and features
  • Reviews and approves logical data models; participates in physical data modeling and creates associated database structures
  • Identifies and implements database monitoring, capacity planning, and performance monitoring processes and tuning
  • Propose and implement enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system
  • Complete special projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field required
  • Experience in Financial Services industry preferred
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as Database Administrator
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure preferred
  • Prior experience with database design, administration and maintenance; database performance and tuning, query optimization; implementing data management best practices; database security implementation and monitoring; implementing and maintaining high availability applications; DevOps culture and practices, to ensure high quality production deployments; and establishing Production/Development environment segregation
  • High standards of personal integrity and accuracy
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required
