The Data & Applications Manager will be responsible for managing the processes and people responsible for accurate data collection and management, applications development, and data quality assurance. The ideal candidate has a drive to understand our business and an ability to communicate complex subjects in a manner that is easily understood by others. They will ensure data accuracy and consistent reporting by designing and creating optimal processes and procedures for the Data and Applications Team to follow. The successful candidate will report to the Chief Technology Officer and lead a team of application developers, data analysts and data engineers.


  • Lead the Data and Applications team in the development and maintenance of data integrations, application configurations and automation processes to support the business applications in use across all Polen Capital business units
  • Recruit, train, develop and supervise data analysts, data engineers, application developers and solution architects
  • Analyze business operations and systems to determine which applications are necessary to improve efficiency of business processes, and quality of data
  • Manage and optimize processes for data intake, validation, mining, and engineering as well as modeling, visualization, and communication
  • Develop and implement quality controls and standards to meet organizational expectations
  • Lead cross-functional projects using advanced data modeling and analysis techniques to discover insights that will guide strategic decisions and uncover optimization opportunities
  • Work closely with the Analytics team that generates business insights from the source data and systems implemented and maintained by the Data and Applications team
  • Proactively seek opportunities to automate and improve processes

  • Bachelor’s degree in programming, computer engineering, computer science or a related quantitative discipline; Master’s degree or PhD preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years work experience, most recently within the asset management data & analytics domain
  • Deep understanding of investment management knowledge domains, including investment accounting, order management, CRM, sales management, investment performance, portfolio management and client reporting
  • Expertise in database and data warehousing, including one or more of the following: Azure SQL DB, Azure Synapse Analytics, Snowflake, Alteryx, Python, Tableau, Power BI
  • Experience with implementing and managing business applications such as ServiceNow, Marketo, MARS, Bloomberg PORT, Vision FI
  • Proven leadership qualities; experience managing matrixed and geographically dispersed teams
  • Track record of working with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strategic and creative thinker with the ability to be hands-on and ensure flawless execution from self and team
  • Consummate team player who finds common ground and can build strong partnerships and effectively influence others
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
