The Data Architect will be responsible for designing the optimal enterprise data management framework for Polen Capital. They will collaborate to design and build the firm’s data warehouse and functional data marts. The ideal candidate has a drive to understand our business and an ability to communicate complex subjects in a manner that is easily understood by others. The successful candidate will report to the Data and Applications Manager and lead a team of data analysts and data engineers.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Lead the Data and Applications team in the design, development, and maintenance of the Polen Capital Data Warehouse to support the data requirements of all the firm’s business units
  • Coach and mentor team members in best practices for data modeling and application development
  • Design and optimize processes for modeling, visualization, and communication as well as data intake, validation, mining, and engineering
  • Develop and implement quality controls and standards to meet organizational expectations
  • Lead cross-functional projects using advanced data modeling and analysis techniques to discover insights that will guide strategic decisions and uncover optimization opportunities
  • Work closely with the Analytics teams to generates business insights from the source data and systems, implemented and maintained by the Data and Applications team
  • Proactively seek opportunities to automate and improve data processes
  • Represent Polen Capital with integrity and model Firm values and professional standards

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical or quantitative discipline; Master’s degree preferred
  • 7+ years professional experience in data architecture and data engineering, working Financial Services; Investment Management experience preferred
  • Experience with investment management knowledge domains, including investment accounting, trade order management, client service, sales management, investment performance, portfolio management and client reporting
  • Experience with implementing and managing business application integrations to deliver on data requirements, e.g., CRM, Portfolio Accounting, ServiceNow, Marketo, MARS, Bloomberg PORT
  • Expertise in SQL, ETL processes, and data warehouse design; including experience with one or more of the following: Kimball Methodology, Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Snowflake, Matillion, Alteryx
  • Experience with common programming languages, including experience with one or more of the following: Python, Java, C#, Go, Scala
  • Experience with BI tools and data analysis, including Tableau and Power BI
  • Experience in Agile environment and implementing CI/CD principles
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and simultaneously support all stakeholders
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
