Polen Capital Adopts the CFA Institute Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Code

Reinforcing the firm’s deep commitment to building a culture of inclusivity, Polen becomes DEI signatory

Committed to a Culture of Inclusivity & Results

Polen Capital has adopted the voluntary CFA Institute Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Code for Investment Professionals in the United States and Canada (“DEI Code”).

Launched in February 2022, the DEI Code provides investment industry organizations with an action-oriented and principles-based framework, which seeks to drive measurable and meaningful change concerning diversity, equity and inclusion within organizations.

Rachel Trock, Chief People Officer at Polen Capital, said, “We believe that diverse perspectives contribute to exceptional results. That’s why we focus on driving representation for people of underrepresented backgrounds within the asset management industry. Our adoption of the DEI Code is one example of how we are building a culture of greater inclusivity.”

4 Polen Pillars of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

  1. Empower All Voices — focus on our underrepresented recruitment and leadership effort to build a well-rounded team
  2. Enhance Our Workplace — work on fostering a culture of belonging and delivering resources to advance allyship and inclusion
  3. Engage Our Communities — support our local communities through corporate partnership, volunteerism, and charitable giving
  4. Expand Our Reach — work with diverse vendors and companies

Sarah Maynard, ASIP, Global Head of External Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at CFA Institute, commented, “In working together to improve diversity, equity and inclusion in the investment industry, signatory organizations are making clear their public commitment to delivering on the work and change that they need to do to participate meaningfully in this effort. I’m delighted to welcome Polen Capital to the growing number of organizations committed to the principles of the DEI Code.”

DEI Code signatories commit to six Principles that seek to drive DEI progress as it relates to the talent pipeline, staff acquisition, promotion and retention, leadership, influence, and measurement. Further, signatories commit to accelerate and amplify the impact of their commitment by making the economic, business, and moral case for diversity, equity, and inclusion. In Canada, signatories commit to implementing the Truth and Reconciliation of Canada Call to Action #92 and to embracing Indigenous reconciliation.
